Reclaiming Your Story Through Yin Yoga and Writing

An afternoon of yin yoga, attentive listening, creative writing, and sharing, to witness your story and reclaim a part of yourself that may have been hidden, denied, or waiting to be seen

New Year, New Story

An afternoon of yin yoga, attentive listening, creative writing, and sharing

“There is no agony like bearing an untold story inside you.” — Zora Neale Hurston

We are shaped by the stories we tell ourselves and by the stories we keep hidden. Some may be difficult to face, while others have simply been waiting for the space to be heard. Together, we’ll create a brave space to explore what feels ready to be heard. This workshop invites you first to turn your attention inward, find your words, and bring the parts of yourself you’ve kept quiet into the light.

We’ll begin with yin yoga, creating space to connect with a theme you’d like to explore. That might be love, identity, sexuality, grief, belonging, family, change, desire, or self-worth.

The afternoon continues with a creative writing exercise to help you explore what wants to emerge. You don’t have to be a writer, and your text doesn’t need to be polished. It can be a paragraph or just a few sentences.

To close, the yoga mat becomes a stage. You’ll have the opportunity to read your text aloud and give voice to your story, sharing only what feels right for you.

The workshop takes you from listening to yourself, through being heard by others, to reclaiming a part of yourself that may have been hidden, denied, or waiting to be seen. At the end of the afternoon, you’ll feel empowered and inspired to embark on your new story!

This workshop is for anyone ready to dive deep within and explore their own story through yin yoga and writing. The gentle yin yoga is suitable for all levels. No writing experience is needed, and you’re welcome to write in your own language. Share your work or simply listen; take part at your own pace, with no pressure.
