Yin + Nidra = a match made in heaven for those who want to dive into an extra-deep relaxation!

The deep & slow stretches of a Yin yoga practice will gradually slow down our body and mind. We release deep-seated physical tension in our poses and allow Chi to flow more freely. The breath will be our magic ingredient, showing us where we’re holding back and helping us to dive deeper into heavenly relaxation.

In Yoga Nidra, we bring the body to a deep, sleep-like relaxation while the mind remains awake. Using techniques like breath awareness, body scans, and visualizations, we travel through different states of awareness related to the brainwave states between wakefulness and sleep. Doing absolutely nothing, something deep inside might shift and heal. Once the mind is quiet, we might experience an effortless state of peaceful meditation, bringing us closer to who we really are.

This is an XL practice which we offer as a special class, combining these two powerful practices to fully release tension and patterns we carry and open up to deeper states of true relaxation. Treat yourself to this practice!

ABOUT THE TEACHER

KATRIN KOGEL Katrin Kögel

Katrin teaches Yin yoga. Her calm energy, warm voice & sense of humor help her students to slow down and relax, be they total beginners or Yin experts. Also, breath awareness and some self-reflection are tools she likes to combine with teaching the wonderful Yin poses.

She started practicing yoga when she moved from Germany to Amsterdam in 2003. Soon, she found her teacher Anat Geiger who helped her a lot to accept & appreciate her own body after many years of struggling with that. Also, Anat has been an immense inspiration and source of knowledge for her in countless hours of teacher training, both Yin & Yang. Another training with Paul & Suzee Grilley brought her right to the source of Yin yoga, getting priceless insights into the anatomical part of the practice.
And for the last few years, Katrin has been a happy student of Satya & Sahaj, diving deeper & deeper into all different aspects of yoga & meditation.

Besides, Katrin studies Spiritual Care at the VU in Amsterdam and she loves being in nature, especially with her dogs Hank & Frida.
