A friday evening special Jivamukti class with Moena & Karo
Shared with love by Moena & Karo to celebrate life, this special class will bring forth all tenants of the lineage and will be soaked with a special theme; based on Bhakti, Ahimsa, music aligned with the theme, yoga philosophy and meditation. Don’t hesitate to join if you’re looking for a Friday evening experience filled with joy & devotion.
In a Jivamukti class you work at your own pace, guided by the teacher’s verbal as well as hands-on guidance. Asana options will be provided for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. A typical Open class incorporates the five tenets of Jivamukti Yoga:
- shastra (scripture)
- bhakti (devotion)
- ahimsa (kindness)
- nada (music)
- dhyana (meditation)
An Open class presents classical yoga teachings as relevant to one’s life on and off the mat, supported by chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation. All Open classes include asanas, meditation and spiritual teachings—in a sequence creatively designed by the teacher. Music plays an integral role: you might practice to a shifting soundtrack of ragas, spiritual music, and from hip-hop to classical: the music is the fluid thread through each class. The class is called “Open” because it is open and suitable to all levels of practitioner.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS
MOENA DE JONG
Driven by an insatiable curiosity for depth, it was a logical step 14 years ago for Moena de Jong to embark on a yoga education. After 4 years of training based on the Critical Alignment principle, she continued her yoga journey with teacher training from Svaha Yoga (Jivamukti-inspired), practiced Vipassana meditation, and participated in workshops with various international instructors.
In 2014, she obtained her 500-hour certification from Jivamukti Yoga in New York. In addition to Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, Yoga Nidra and Pranayama are strong passions she enjoys sharing with her students. Her lineage traces back to Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Tibetan Buddhism captured her heart years ago, leading her to pursue her studies within the lineage of Drukpa Kagyu.
Believing that yoga encompasses all aspects of life, she seamlessly integrated her Ayurveda knowledge into her daily practice and shares this with her students. Moena’s classes range from dynamic Jivamukti-inspired yoga to Hatha yoga in a meditative flow. She emphasizes the importance of students following their intuition and freeing themselves from self-criticism.
For years, Moena has been sharing her passion for connection through Pranayama, Vinyasa, Hatha, philosophy, Nidra, and Ayurveda. She conducts workshops for various teacher training programs in these aforementioned yoga forms. Believing that true radiance comes from authentic self-expression, she guides her students with light and enthusiasm on a journey towards their core.
KARO TAK
Karo brings a sense of adventure and an open heart to her classes, inspiring students to dive deep and enjoy the journey. She brings 12 years of dedicated practice and continuous learning to the mat.
She acts and speaks from a place of realness and authenticity using the means of yoga and yoga philosophy as her platform. She strives to take students on a yoga trip to self realisation through a lot of sweat, laughter and sometimes tears. Karo teaches strong and dynamic Vinyasa classes with a fast pace, jokes and banter, interspersed with spiritual insight and encouragement, and a smashing play-list!
She is a 800 hr yoga teacher trained in both Jivamukti and Yogasana. She holds her teachers close and spends a lot of time with her teacher Stewart Gilchrist (East London School of Yoga) in London.
