Yoga Beginners Course (4 weeks)

This 4-week course is a perfect way to start your journey into the world of yoga in a fun and accessible way, whether you are completely new to yoga, just beginning, or ready to come back to yoga after a break.

A COMPREHENSIVE INTRODUCTION TO YOGA FOR NEW AND OLD STUDENTS

Have you recently started practicing yoga or are you completely new to yoga but ready to start your yoga journey? Or perhaps you’d like to come back to yoga after a long break, or refresh your knowledge and deepen your understanding of yoga?

Then this Yoga Beginners Course might be exactly what you need. We’ll meet for 4 consecutive Tuesday evenings in October, exploring together the fundamental aspects of yoga.

What to expect :

  • What is Yoga : what makes yoga a “work in” rather than a “work out”. We’ll discuss yoga history, philosophy and mindfulness
  • Breath : we’ll look at the physiology of the breath and how we can optimize our breathing during yoga practice ánd daily life
  • Yoga Styles : from very dynamic and active, to slower and more meditative practices, yoga has many faces. We’ll explore them together and will help you find which style(s) of yoga suit your needs best
  • Fundamentals Poses : we’ll cover the fundamental yoga asanas such as upward and downward facing dog, sun salutations, a few standing and seated postures, backbends and inversions, to make sure you get a safe base for any future class

 

Join Chrisey in this 4-week course in October, your perfect start (or comeback) into the world of yoga. Expect a deepening of your practice and knowledge in a fun and accessible way. After this course you will step onto your mat with confidence and self trust, ready to explore the deeper layers of yoga at your own pace.

This course is limited to 12 participants to make sure everyone gets individual guidance from the teacher as needed.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

 

CHRISEY DEN OUDEN

Chrisey’s teaching journey began shortly after she fell deeply in love with Yoga in her mid twenties, over a decade ago. Yoga brought her home within herself and gave her the sense of grounding she needed. Now her passion lies in helping people experience the magic of yoga in their own practice.

In her classes Chrisey loves to emphasize on the joy of yoga and having a bit of fun while practicing. To move from the mind to the heart space and connect to ourselves on a deeper level. Since most of us have a tendency to be hard on ourselves, the focus of her classes lies more on self-compassion and learning to observe ourselves with kind eyes.

She teaches Yin, Yin-Yang, Hatha, Vinyasa and Mindfulness.

Chrisey lives in Amsterdam with her husband and two kids, and teaches Yoga in Amsterdam while also running her own Yogaschool on the island of Texel, where she lived for 5 years.
