Pelvic Floor Yoga Workshop for Women
A healthy pelvic floor provides the foundation for all movement in the body. This is the true meaning of “core work.”
Whether you’re experiencing symptoms or simply curious to better understand this often-overlooked area, this workshop is for you. It may be especially helpful if you have experienced:
- Pelvic pain
- Low back, hip, or groin discomfort
- Pain during sex or difficulty using tampons
- Skin irritation
- Leaking when laughing, coughing, or sneezing
- Frequent urges to urinate
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Pre- or post-pregnancy changes

We’ll begin the workshop with a clear, accessible anatomy overview, followed by subtle, experiential movements to help you sense and connect to the pelvic floor. From there, you’ll learn practices to support both overactive (hypertonic) and underactive (hypotonic) pelvic floors, along with specific exercises and yoga poses to build awareness, strength, and resilience.
Handouts will be provided. Bring your friends, sisters, mothers, and daughters—no prior yoga experience is necessary.

Leslie Howard is an Oakland-based yoga teacher known for her groundbreaking work in pelvic floor health and her thoughtful exploration of yoga as a practice for living — and dying — with awareness. She leads workshops and teacher trainings worldwide and is the author of Pelvic Liberation, a comprehensive guide to caring for the pelvis through yoga, breathwork, and self-inquiry. Her method, developed through decades of therapeutic teaching, has been scientifically studied at the University of California, San Francisco and shown to improve symptoms of incontinence and pelvic pain.
Leslie’s teaching is informed by more than 3,500 hours of study with senior Iyengar yoga teachers, most notably Ramanand Patel, her longtime mentor. A regular presenter at Yoga Journal conferences and contributor to Yoga Journal magazine, she brings together anatomy, physiology, cultural context, and subtle energetics in a way that is both accessible and deeply informed.
